Join a band near you

You are looking for a seat, not a vanity profile. Search openings, apply with a short note and a clip, and talk to bands that actually need your instrument this month.

How joining a band works here

No boost credits. No “featured musician” paywall. Listings are classifieds: city, role, commitment, then a message.

Openings first, not endless scrolling

Start from live musicians-wanted posts. Filter by instrument and city so you are not DMing bands that are not hiring.

Apply with proof

A 60-second clip beats a paragraph about your influences. Bands decide faster when they can hear you.

Keep a listing live

You can apply to openings and keep your own musician listing up so bands find you while you search.

Free to apply

Applications are not gated. If a paid feature ever ships, you will see the price before you commit.

A week of joining a band, not a year of hoping

Treat it like a job search with audio, not a social feed.

Pick two or three openings you can actually rehearse for. City and night-of-week matter more than “we’re going places.” If you cannot make Tuesday, skip the Tuesday band.

Send a specific message: the opening title, your city, your instrument, and a clip. Ask one real question (first gig, rehearsal address, originals vs covers). Three or four sentences.

When someone replies, do one jam before you commit a season. Talk pay, splits, and a graceful off-ramp. If they will not write those down, that is the answer.

If you want more than one shot at once, keep a public musician listing and check find-members plus musicians-wanted the same week.

No. A clear city, instrument, availability, and one honest recording is enough to start. Add more media when you have it.
Yes. Browsing openings and applying is free. Bandmate does not charge a placement fee to sit in a lineup.
Send one follow-up after a week, then move on. Most silence is schedule, not a verdict on your playing.
