Rainbow City is a suburban community just south of Gadsden in northeast Alabama, where music follows the patterns of a smaller Southern city. Church choirs, school bands, and local country and rock cover acts provide most of the live sound.

Music happens at church fellowship halls, local restaurants, community centers, and school auditoriums. For regular bar gigs and open mics, performers usually head into Gadsden, Anniston, or down toward Birmingham.

Local and regional artists perform here, with musicians from the nearby Gadsden and Birmingham scene occasionally passing through.
