Elsmere is a small Northern Kentucky city just south of Cincinnati, where working-class suburban life supports school bands and church choirs. Local musicians often cross the river into Cincinnati for larger opportunities while playing occasional community events at home.

Performances occur at the high school auditorium, church fellowship halls, the community center, and local bars and restaurants. Park pavilions host summer concerts, and American Legion halls are used for community gatherings with live music.
