Hazel Park is a small Oakland County city just north of Detroit, where working class roots, school bands, and a handful of local bars support a modest live music culture. The town sits close enough to Detroit that many musicians live here and commute to the city's clubs and theaters.

Music can be found at local bars and restaurants, the community center, American Legion halls, and school auditoriums. Hazel Park has a few steady rooms, but most touring acts and bigger bills play in Detroit, Ferndale, or Royal Oak.

Local and regional artists perform here, with musicians from the nearby Detroit scene occasionally passing through.
