Silver Springs is a small Lyon County community east of Reno where music life is modest and community-based. School bands, church choirs, and county fair entertainment provide the main outlets for performance.

Music happens at the high school auditorium, church fellowship halls, community center, and county fairgrounds. A few local bars host acoustic acts. For regular paid work, musicians head toward Reno and Carson City.

Hometown players and area cover bands are the usual performers, while Reno artists occasionally drive east for festivals.
