Music scene · Dallas

Dallas is a small Willamette Valley city northwest of Salem. Music life centers on school bands, church choirs, and acoustic and country acts. The town looks toward Salem and Portland for larger concerts and touring acts.

Performances occur at county fairgrounds, downtown restaurants, church fellowship halls, and city park events. Additional rooms are available in Salem and McMinnville. Dallas has no dedicated music venue, so many gigs are tied to community events.

Local and regional artists perform in Dallas, with musicians from the nearby Salem and Portland area occasionally passing through.

New musicians in Dallas should join school or church ensembles, play local community events, and build a covers set. Driving to Salem and Portland expands real gig opportunities.
