Mount Hermon is a small community in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, south of Danville. Country, gospel, and bluegrass sounds suit the rural Piedmont landscape, with school bands and church choirs carrying much of the musical tradition.

Music occurs at the high school auditorium, local church fellowship halls, the community center, and small restaurants along the county roads. Danville provides the nearest bars and larger event spaces.
