As a farming community and county seat, this southwest Wisconsin town supports music through school bands, church choirs, community theater, and occasional local bar acts. The county fair talent show remains a local tradition. Madison and La Crosse musicians drive through for regional bookings.

The high school auditorium, church fellowship halls, American Legion hall, local bars and restaurants, and county fairgrounds are the primary performance spaces. There is no dedicated music club.
